Escorted Transportation Service
Since getting back on the road in mid June, 27 amazing volunteers have taken more than 70 seniors to over 150 medical appointments. All while remaining healthy and safe.
These times are definitely trying for everyone, but we are thrilled that we can continue to be there for the seniors in our community.
We appreciate the continued support of our volunteers and the community. Thank you.
ETS/NW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2006 with the single goal of providing reliable, volunteer-based, accompanied transportation for the older adults in our community to get to their crucial medical and dental appointments. There is a huge need for this program, particularly as our senior population continues to grow (expected to grow 17% in the next 5 years in our service area).
Our service is so much more than a ride to an important medical appointment. Our drivers treat everyone like their own family. Our passengers sit next to the driver in the front seat and is shown compassion and companionship. This is what makes ETS/NW so special.
Our service also gives family member’s peace of mind. Whether they work, live out-of-the-area, have other commitments or simply need some additional assistance, family members can be confident that ETS/NW will get their loved one to his/her crucial medical appointments.
The service is available by appointment only and a minimum of one week’s advance notice is required. A simple application must be filled out and on file before we’ll accept any ride requests. A $12 donation is requested for each round-trip ride. All volunteer drivers are trained, have been background checked and are provided with additional insurance.
- regular checkups
- vision screenings
- blood and lab tests
- wound care
- pacemaker checks, etc.
- dentist visits
We are the ideal choice for older adults who wish to remain an integral part of their community and remain independent.
PLEASE NOTE: We don’t provide rides when anesthesia is involved: We are unable to provide transportation for visits when any type of anesthesia has been administered (ie., colonoscopy, day surgeries, etc.) because doctors require the patient to have someone remain with them for at least several hours upon returning home.
This short video was created to highlight the service that ETS/NW provides:
